Waar de AI-analyse ophoudt en het gesprek begintWhere the AI analysis ends and the conversation begins

Daar ligt onze overtuiging.

We embrace AI in our work, and with conviction. A language model reads a data room faster than any team, summarises hundreds of contracts, benchmarks figures and surfaces patterns a human would overlook. Those who fail to harness that power deliver more slowly and at greater cost today. Which is exactly why it matters to name clearly where the analysis ends.

The promise — and the temptation

The temptation of a good analysis is that it looks finished. The model delivers a tidy overview: risks categorised, anomalies flagged, a valuation to two decimal places. It appears complete, and therefore convincing. But an output that looks confident is not thereby true. The danger lies not in the error the model makes, but in the confidence with which we adopt it.

Paper is not practice

Numbers and contracts describe a snapshot. They tell you what has been recorded, not what is really going on. Revenue sits in the books; the reason the largest client is growing restless appears nowhere. The org chart shows roles; it does not show who actually keeps the company running, or which key person is about to leave.

The real company lives in things that resist digitisation: culture, relationships, unwritten arrangements, the hesitation in a founder's voice when a certain subject comes up. A dashboard does not register that hesitation. An experienced counterpart hears it at once.

The deal is closed between people

A transaction is not a calculation but an encounter. Behind every purchase and sale sit motives, ambitions and fears that rarely come fully onto the table. Why is this entrepreneur selling now? What does the buyer truly intend for the company? Do they fit — not on paper, but in the practice of everyday work? Those are the questions that make or break a deal, and they are answered in conversation — at the table, between people looking each other in the eye.

Trust is not born in a report. It is born in how someone answers a difficult question, handles a setback, keeps their word when it matters. No model sits at the negotiating table.

Control and judgement remain human work

The right relationship, then, is not either-or but a clear order of precedence. AI is the instrument; the human steers. Every output is verified, placed in context and tested against what the conversation reveals. Reverse the order and let the analysis replace judgement, and you mistake speed for insight.

That is our conviction. AI makes us faster and sharper, but it does not relieve us of the real work: judging, steering and taking responsibility. The best decisions emerge where the power of the analysis meets the judgement of someone who knows the practice — and who knows when to put the screen aside and start the conversation.

  • AI is an exceptional instrument for analysis — but a model’s output is not the same as reality.
  • Numbers and contracts describe a snapshot; the real company lives in people, culture and the unwritten.
  • A transaction is closed between people: trust, motives and chemistry cannot be read from a dashboard.
  • AI belongs under human direction — control, judgement and accountability remain human work.
